All our metal dome mesh feeders allow outstanding cross ventilation, especially because there is no lip around the bottom tray. No lip means it is more inviting to Cardinals, and ventilation can occur where it is needed the most.
Cardinals will enjoy feeding from the flat bottom tray and other birds will cling to the mesh and feed.
The cylinder shape allows a more open view surrounding the Cardinal alerting it readily to any danger.

Pinchers on top, slides to keep lid down. Pinchers inside, slide on cable to tighten and loosen mesh cylinder, for easy cleaning. Nothing comes detached to lose on the ground.
Seed is easy for birds to access, but does sprinkle out when filling. Fill over a pail to catch overflow if desired.
